An exciting April in store

The seven games include a Clásico, a local derby and a lot more to look forward to at Spotify Camp Nou

There are seven games to be played in April and there is silverware on the line. With a 12-point lead in La Liga, it's a case of keeping that distance alive until mathematics dictate that the title is won. And there is also the no minor matter of the Copa del Rey as well.

Cup semi-final

The first game back after the international break is away to struggling Elche. One of those games that on paper is a routine win, but against a side that has just appointed a new manager, Barça will need to be careful not to get caught off their guard.

Most importantly, they'll need not to be distracted by the huge game immediately after at Spotify Camp Nou, A 1-0 win at the Bernabéu was a brilliant start to the Copa del Rey semi-final, but Madrid are always a fearsome opponent, and a place in the final is anything but guaranteed.

Catalan derby and three madrileños

The rest of the month is all about the league. Girona will be the guests on Easter Monday at Spotify Camp Nou for a local derby, and after that come three games against teams from Madrid. First it's off to the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, home of Getafe (16/04), then the in-form Atlético Madrid are coming top Barcelona (23/04) before Barça return to the Spanish capital to take on Rayo Vallecano (26/04).

Betis to end

The month ends with another interesting clash at home to a Betis side (30/ 04) that is currently in the hunt for a Champions League berth.
