Barça Atlètic and Auckland City play a friendly match

Barça's development side play a friendly match against the team from New Zealand on pitch 3 at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper

Today saw a different type of training session for Barça Atlètic. The development team played a friendly match against Auckland City, who are currently on pre-season in Catalonia and preparing to play their first round World Club Championship match against Al-Ahly.

The friendly was played on pitch 3 at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, allowing coach Rafa Márquez to give some minutes to players who haven't featured much recently, as well as watching new signing Lucas Román in action. Under-19A player Diego Almeida was also involved, along with Under-19B players Brian Fariñas, Adrian Simon Gill, and Gustavo Maia. The match ended 1-1, with Sergi Rosanas scoring for Barça.

Barça Atlètic are on a run of two wins in a row, having taken 10 out of the last 12 points, currently sitting fifth in the table with 32 points. Their next game is significant game, when they welcome Real Sociedad B to the Estadi Johan Cruyff (Saturday 28 January, kickoff 7:15pm CET). The Basque side are in third place and two points ahead of the Catalans.
