‘FC Barcelona, A New Era’ documentary series premieres worldwide on December 28

Together with the announcement of the launch date, Barça and Prime Video release the trailer for this inside story of the last two years at the club

The documentary series ‘FC Barcelona, a New Era’ will premiere worldwide on December 28 on Prime Video. Produced by Barça Studios, it offers an inside view of the first team over the last two years, including the building of a new squad, the financial reconstruction and the resurgence of the club following a period of crisis.

To celebrate the announcement, Barça and Prime Video have released the official trailer for a series that will consist of five 30-minute episodes.


The story begins on 14 August 2020, when Barça suffered one of its most painful losses ever, the 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in Lsbon in the Champions League quarter final. It offers a fly-on-the-wall look at the era with Quique Setién as manager, the departure of Luis Suárez, Leo Messi's last season at the club, the arrival of the new board led by Joan Laporta, the end of Ronald Koeman's tenure and the signing of Xavi as the new head coach. It ends with the 2022/23 preseason and the arrival of several big players, and particularly Robert Lewandowski.
