Lewandowski still on a roll

Not since Ronaldo in 1996/97 has a player scored this many goals in his first ten games in La Liga

Robert Lewandowski just can't stop scoring! Two more goals were added to his account against Villarreal on Thursday, and that's now 16 already for his new club, 11 of those in the league. After his prowess for Bayern Munich and Poland was recently recognised with the Gerd Müller award, the striker is now showing that he can do just the same in blaugrana.

Up with Ronaldo, Romario and Cruyff

Not for 26 years has someone got off to a comparable start in their first ten league games. That was Ronaldo after he joined Barça in 1996/97. Before that, we had Romario (1993/94), Krankl (1978/79) and Cruyff (1974/75), all of whom also scored ten or more goals, and all of them for Barça.

Lewandowski has bettered Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who needed 12 games to score his first ten league goals, and also Cristiano Ronaldo, who reached double figures after 13 games following his move from Man United to Real Madrid.
