Lewandowski scoring at lightning pace

The Polish sharpshooter has scored nine goals in fewer games than any other player in LaLiga this century

Robert Lewandowski scores goals at a breathtaking pace. His start in LaLiga for FC Barcelona is simply off the charts - the number 9 has now scored nine goals in fewer games than any other player in LaLiga this century.

Lewy lit up a fairly even match at the Visit Mallorca Estadi with a goal that ultimately sealed a 0-1 win for Barça. An impressive strike to boot that further added to his total so far. That's now nine goals in the first seven LaLiga games and what's more, two former FC Barcelona players join him in the top three for this stat - Zlatan Ibrahimovic (2009/10) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (2021/22).

Top scorer in the league, scoring six games in a row...

The Polish captain also leads the way for another stat - top scorer in LaLiga for the season. Nine goals from only 18 shots on target, scoring in six games in a row, approaching a record that dates back to 1940. No other footballer since has been able to score six games in a row during their first seven league games.

This run of goalscoring games puts Lewy out on his own. No other player from the five major leagues has been able to keep up the same goalscoring pace so far. Yet more evidence of his prowess in front of goal. He is scoring a goal every 60 minutes and every 30 touches of the ball, putting him ahead of any other player in LaLiga on those stats  - only Erling Haaland has a better rate in the five major leagues.

... to ensure a Barça win

His run of goals came during consecutive games against Real Sociedad (2), Valladolid (2), Sevilla, Cádiz, Elche (2) and Mallorca. He only drew a blank in the first LaLiga match of the season against Rayo Vallecano en el Spotify Camp Nou (0-0). Consecutive goalscoring at lightning pace to help maintain the winning run. So, a goal by Lewandowski appears to be a sure sign of a win for Barça, which goes for the Champions League too. It's worth noting that he also scored the first goal for Barça on four occasions.

Robert Lewandowski, goalscoring at lightning pace. There's no doubt he will be looking to add to his goal tally during the upcoming Champions League game away to Inter Milan.
