FC Barcelona 7-0 Madrid CFF: Strong as ever

A great atmosphere at the Estadi Johan Cruyff and a very convincing victory indeed

A game that was still tight with half an hour to go ended up being a landslide victory for the women. Graham Hansen was able to celebrate her 100th appearance with the opening goal, but that was the only one in the first half of a game that brought the curious anecdote of goalkeeping sisters Gemma Font and Meritxell Font both being included the same squad.

Gemma was called upon to show her best as Madrid CFF spent a lot of the first half causing considerable danger, and it wasn't until after the break that the blaugrana ladies really managed to shine. But wow did they shine!

Mariona Caldentey culminated a fine team move by knocking one in off the post and then Brazilian Geyse Ferreira headed in with her first touch of the ball after coming on. Shortly after, she fired in her second from outside the area.

In between those two goals, Caldentey completed a brace of her own with a vigorous header, and Crnogorcevic added two of her own in the final quarter of an hour to complete what ended up being a very convincing rout.
