Villarreal 1–4 Barça Women: Deserved win

The blaugranes maintain their 100% record in the league with a second victory of the season

Barça overcame a combative Villarreal side to record a second win of the season in the league thanks to a 4-1 victory away from home.

The blaugranes came out in the first half in intense fashion but Villarreal's defensive tactics kept them at bay initially. However, in the 26th minute a tremendous free kick from Mapi León handed the visitors the lead. 1-0 up, Barça had chances to extend their lead but Geyse and the Patri Guijarro were both denied by saves from keeper Del Toro.

The second half started with the balugranes just a goal ahead but after just two minutes Oshoala added a second for Jonatan Giráldez's team. The Nigerian latched on to Mariona's pass and lifted the ball nicely over keeper Del Toro.

Villarreal, however, came back at Barça and Rocío García made it 2-1 on 56 minutes with a cool finish. The blaugranes were not put off and continued to create chances, one of which was taken by Claudia Pina to make it 3-1 on 75 minutes.

The home side's misery was added to when Lara Mata turned the ball past her own goalkeeper following a María Léon corner to make the final score 4-1 to Barça.
