Phillip Cocu

Cocu (Eindhoven, Netherlands, 1970) came to Barça after a successful career at PSV Eindhoven and the versatile midfielder went to virtually all there is to win with the blaugranes

His versatility meant he could play at full back, in midfield and even in attack with equal effect thanks to his technique and innate class. Cocu was proficient with his left foot in front of goal and an excellent header of the ball. His ability to read the game saw him become a fixture in the midfield alongside Pep Guardiola and Luis Enrique.

Right from the off he won over the fans with his commitment. Recently overtaken by Dani Alves and Leo Messi, for a while he held the record as the foreign player at Barça with most appearances.
