Marcial Pina

Known as the 'Golden Blonde', Marcial (Barzana de Quirós, Asturias, 1946) was one of the best midfielders in FC Barcelona history

A player of exceptional quality, Marcial signed for Barça from Espanyol in the 1969-70 season and became a figure in one of the most famous midfields in Barça history alongside Rexach, Asensi, Cruyff and Sotil in the 1973/74 league season.

The Asturian stood out for his technical ability and for his intelligence on the field. Blessed with undoubted class, Marcial made the game look easy. Two footed, he was a brilliant passer of the ball and his versatility meant he could play in midfield or in attack.

His best season came in the 1973/74 campaign when the team won the league and Marcial top scored with 28 goals. In 1977 he left the Club to sign for Atlético Madrid.
