Justo Tejada

Justo Tejada (Barcelona, 1933 – Barcelona, 2021) was one of the best right wingers who has ever played for Barça

The Barcelona born winger was a great dribbler, pacey and had a natural eye for goal. A true Barça legend, Tejada came up through the youth ranks at the Club. In the season 1951-52, a young Justo was the star of the Barça feeder team Espanya Industrial, right at the time when Ladislau Kubala was the star of the first team. At that time Kubala was know as the 'Sunday's man' whilst Tejada was 'Saturday's man', the day when Espanya Industrial played their matches. After a spell on loan Murcia in 1952/53, he returned to earn a place in the first team and achieve great success before he was released in 1961 with still plenty of seasons left in his legs.

Championed by one Alfredo di Stefano, Tejada joined Real Madrid where he stayed for two seasons. In 1963 he joined Espanyol for the final two years of his career. Nevertheless, he never lost the affection of the Barça fans and the café he set up after his playing career became a famous meeting point for Barça fans.
