Julio Alberto Moreno

Julio Alberto (Candás, Asturias, 1958) came to Barça in 1982 from Atlético Madrid already a star and he did not disappoint

An extremely pacy left back with a strong personality and a fighting spirit on the field, Julio Alberto was a real fan favourite at Barça during his career. His attacking runs from deep and his precise crossing were always done at pace and he also boasted an excellent shot. Memorable moments include his pass for Marcos to score the winning goal in the last minute of the 1983 Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid and his goal against Juventus in the 1985/86 European Cup quarter final.

Julio Alberto was a member of the FC Barcelona Foundation and Social Commission from 2003 to 2008 and also assistant director of the FCB Escola between 2008 and 2014.
