Handbol Esplugues 22-41 Barça: Through to the Catalonia Super Cup final

Comfortable semi-final win for Barça who will face Granollers in Monday's final

A comfortable victory for the Barça Handball team in the first competitive game of the season against Handbol Esplugues (22-41). Barça proved superior throughout the semifinal of the Catalonian Super Cup, with Hampus Wanne top scoring with 6 goals. Their next opponents are Granollers at 9pm CEST in Martorell on Monday 29 August.

Dominant from the off

Barça Handball began the contest by making use of their technical and physical advantage at the Complejo Deportivo Les Moreres and the scoreboard soon started ticking over, achieving a 10-goal lead by half-time over their opponents, who continually tried to close the gap.

Victory confirmed

The home side came out all guns blazing with nothing to lose after half-time, and driven on by their fans, they managed to cut into the first half deficit. However, this just led to a response from Barça, with their defence and attack showing great teamwork to stretch their lead once again, final score 22 - 41.
