Barça and the Miami Dolphins cross paths

Sergiño Dest and Raphinha to appear this fall on an episode of the NFL skills challenge series, Game Recognize Game

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida — European football and American football got up close and personal on Monday morning, as a pair of Barça players went head to head with a duo from the NFL's Miami Dolphins in a series of cross-sport challenges that promises to entertain.

Serginho Dest and Raphinha represented Barça, while the Miami Dolphins were represented by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

The challenges were part of a series produced by the NFL called Game Recognize Game, which pits American football players against players from global football clubs as they take a series of both standard and unorthodox skills tests in both sports.

Monday's encounter took place following Barça's third training session on American soil at the training ground of the MLS club, Inter Miami

Beyond the skills competition, the players got a chance to meet and share some laughs as they introduced the basics of their sports to each other. The episode filmed on Monday is expected to be released in September, coinciding with the beginning of the 2022 NFL regular season.
