How FC Barcelona looks after closure of the winter transfer window

A summary of all the comings and goings after a busy period of negotiations at FC Barcelona

"The winter transfer market has closed and titanic efforts have gone into adding a series of players to the team” said Joan Laporta.

So here’s an update on the changes to the squad following all the different movements:

In

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

It took a while for the news to be confirmed, but the Gabonese striker has joined FC Barcelona and will be wearing number 23. “The deal was closed at the very last minute before the transfer window closed”, confirmed Laporta.

Adama Traoré

The La Masia graduate has returned to Barça from Wolves on a loan deal until 30 June 2022. Barça have the option to buy the player at the end of the season, who has inherited the number 11 vacated by Demir.

Nico González 

Xavi has been using the midfielder regularly this season and has decided to grant him an official place in the senior squad wearing the number 14.

Ferran Torres 

The 21-year-old is returning to La Liga, where he previously played for Valencia, after two years of Premier League football at Manchester City. He has already played three games for Barça, with a goal and an assist.

Dani Alves 

Although announced in November, the Brazilian was unable to play officially until January, finally making his comeback to the club where he enjoyed such success in the past in the cup against Linares. Dani Alves opted to wear number 8 in honour of Andrés Iniesta.

Iñaki Peña

On the final day of the transfer window at 7pm CET, the loan of the goalkeeper to Turkish giants Galatasaray until the end of the end of the season was made official.

Àlex Collado 

It was announced on January 7 that the product of La Masia would be departing on loan to Granada. The very next day, the youngster came on as a substitute for his new team in a 1-1 with Barça.

Philippe Coutinho 

January 7 was also the day when it was revealed that the Brazilian midfielder would be going on loan to Premier League club Aston Villa until the end of the season.

Yusuf Demir 

Having arrived on loan from Rapid Vienna at the start of the season, and after making nine appearances in the blaugrana jersey, the player returned to the Austrian club.
