FC Barcelona Women 4 - 0 Hoffenheim: Unstoppable in Europe too

A spectacular display at the Estadi Johan Cruyff maintains the 100 per cent record in the Champions League

It doesn’t matter who it’s against, the Barça women always look majestic, and today they were just as magnificent against Hoffenheim in the Champions League, their third win in the competition this season.

Total control

Hoffenheim attacked first, but that turned out to be their only real attack of the whole first half, and Jennifer Hermoso had the ball in the net after just six minutes.

The blaugrana ladies were all over the German defence, and Alexia soon made it two with a shot to powerful that one may have been forgiven for being concerned that Tufekovic’s might need replacing!

And on 34 minutes the same player further extended the lead against a Hoffenheim side that was outclassed in every department.

One more for luck

Trouble with the floodlights in the Estadi Johan Cruyff was more of a talking point than the potential outcome in the second half, with the Catalans clearly on course for another three points, the only question being by how many it would be. Tufekovic did a fine job of making sure that there would be one further goal in the game, finished by Marta Torrejón, who would be substituted moments later to make way for the debutant Baradad.
