Xavi to take first training session on Tuesday 9 November

The new FC Barcelona coach will be working without his international players for the first few days in charge

Xavi Hernández will take his first FC Barcelona training session this Tuesday 9 November, the day after his official presentation at Camp Nou

He will, of course, be doing so with a number of the names in his squad absent on international duty, namely Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Gavi (Spain), Philippe Coutinho (Brazil), Ronald Araujo (Uruguay), Ter Stegen (Germany), Frenkie de Jong amd Memphis Depay (Holland), Clément Lenglet (France) and Yusuf Demir (Austria).

Following the international break, his first game in charge will the derby against Espanyol on Saturday 20 November at 9.00pm CET

"The training sessions will be demanding and we will compete” hard said the new coach on arrival in the Catalan capital on Saturday. Xavi is used to winning, he has a winning mentality, and he has big plans for the rest of the season. It all start in earnest on Tuesday.
