Eric Garcia and Nico González have muscle strains

Defender and midfielder will not join up with the respective Spanish national and U-21 squads

Medical tests carried out on Eric Garcia and Nico González after the Celta v Barça game on Saturday revealed that both players have muscle strains.

First-team player Eric Garcia has a right calf strain, meaning he won't be joining up with the Spanish national squad. Eric has played 13 times for the first team this season and was substituted at half-time during the match at Balaídos.

Nico González has a left groin strain and won't be joining up with the Spanish U-21s either.

The midfielder had to be substituted in the 57th minute after a great first half showing. The 19-year-old has played 11 first team games this season (9 in La Liga and 2 in the Champions League), and he is making the most of his talent to become an important player for the team.

Ansu with a femoral biceps muscle injury

Let's not forget that tests on first-team player Ansu Fati revealed a muscle injury to the femoral biceps in his left thigh, and he will be out of action until he recovers.

The forward hurt himself right before half-time during the Celta v Barça game in the 44th minute. It was Ansu that made it 0-1 in the 5th minute, his fourth goal in the eight games he has played.
