Women's football: FC Barcelona 8-0 Valencia

An extraordinary game sees Alexia score a hat-trick in the space of just four minutes and maintains the 100 per cent record in the Primera Iberdrola

It took Barça 24 minutes to open their account against Valencia on Saturday afternoon, but once they had found the net once, the goals just didn’t stop coming. In the end they made it three wins out of three with no fewer than eight goals to celebrate, including five in the space of just eight minutes!

It was Oshoala who got the first, and immediately after Alexia reminded everyone why she was named European Player of the Year by banging in a hat-trick in just four minutes, one from an angle, another with a long-range chip and then a header to finish.

By the time Barça had made it six (one from Mariona and the second of the day for Oshoala) and in what was turning into a monologue of possession, we got to see Engen make her debut.

Martens and Graham added their names to a scoresheet that could have seen more goals had it not been for two shots that struck the crossbar.

Next up is a midweek fixture with Villarreal on Tuesday.
