Flensburg 21-25 Barça: Champion start

Barça have got their Champions League title defence off to the perfect start with a 4-point victory at Flensburg. A magnificent Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas, with 16 saves, was the star of the night.

Barça led from early on, but were hit hard when Luka Cindric was forced off with shoulder injury. A low scoring first half ended with Barça leading 13-10.

Pérez de Vargas was outstanding on goal after the restart, and with Dika Mem, Richardson and Aleix Gómez in particular producing their A-game, they managed to maintain their lead through to the end.
