Barça's Olympic footballers

29 FC Barcelona players have been to the games since 1920, and seven of them have returned with gold medals for three different countries

Pedri, Eric Garcia and Òscar Mingueza have all been named in the Spanish U23 side that will be competing at the Tokyo Olympics this summer from July 22 to August 7.

This continues a long history of Barça presence at the games, with 29 players having competed from 1920 to the most recent edition at Rio 2016. Between them, they have amassed 7 gold medals, 8 silvers and one bronze.

Albert Ferrer, Pep Guardiola and Antoni Pinilla were all part of the winning Spanish team at Barcelona 92, Javier Saviola for Argentina at Athens 2004, Leo Messi for Argentina at Beijing 2008, and Neymar and Rafinha for Brazil at Rio 2016.

The losing finalists were Gabri, Xavi and Puyol for Spain at Sydney 2000, Aloisio Pires for Brazil at Seoul 88, and Josep Samitier, Agustí Sancho, Félix Sesúmaga and Ricardo Zamora for Spain at Antwerp 1920.

The sole bronze medallist was Ronaldo with Brazil at Atlanta 96.
