Barça 33–23 Liberbank Cantabria Sinfín: Asobal Cup champions!

The Catalans win their 10th consecutive Asobal Cup in Santander and the 16th in their history after a hard-fought match

The first minutes of the game were a constant tug-of-war with minimal advantage for Barça, who were unable to open the scoring mainly due to the spectacular prominence of Ernesto Sánchez. The Cantabrian goalkeeper had a great first half with 13 stops, two of them from the penalty spot.

A good Barça defence meant a low-scoring 9-6 heading into the break, with Xavi Pascual's men extending their lead only slightly by half-time (14-10 draw).

No mercy

Three consecutive goals from Mortensen in the second half saw Barça take the game away from their visitors, and despite Liberbank putting up a good fight until the end, Barça kept their foot on the accelerator showing no mercy and ending up winning by a convincing 10 points (33-23).
