Inter Movistar 6-4 Barça: Super Cup defeat

The lead changes hand several times, but it all ends in agony for the Catalans

Barça fought to the very end but there will be no Spanish Super Cup this year. The title goes to Inter Movistar, 6-4 winners of a spectacular encounter with goals flying in at both ends. The game was also a high-profile debut for Óscar de la Faya in goal after Dídac was sent off in the first half. 

Matheus put Barça ahead after just four minutes, but Inter quickly scored twice and still led at the break.

After the restart, and own goal and then a fine finish from Aicardo had Barça back in front, but Martel pounced on a rebound to level up again at 3-3.

It was then Inter’s turn to go back in front, but with De La Faya spectacular in goal, Barça equalised though Adolfo

It was anyone’s game in the final minutes, but Cecilio put Inter ahead for the third time and just a minute later Fer Drasler converted a double penalty. Now two ahead, Inter weathered the late Barça storm and could celebrate the trophy.
