Born in Barcelona on 15 April 1962, Yuste is a founding partner of AQIPA Iberia, a subsidiary of AQIPA GmbH Austria, which has affiliates in 13 countries. He is also a consultant specialising in international trade. Since 1983, he has carried out professional activities in Europe, the United States, Africa, Canada, Asia and South America.

A member of FC Barcelona since August 1972, he served as a club director during Joan Laporta’s first presidential term, initially between 2005 and 2008 (as a board member attached to the economic area and youth football), and later as Vice President for Sport from 2008 to 2010. In 2021, during Laporta’s second term as FC Barcelona president, Rafael Yuste returned to the role of Vice President for the sporting area.

As of 9 February 2026, with the club immersed in the electoral process leading up to the elections on 15 March, Yuste is serving as Acting President of FC Barcelona, a mandate that will run until 30 June.
