Ronald Koeman says Barça confident going into PSG tie

The blaugrana coach in his pre game appearance before the press notes that it will be an interesting tie despite both teams having players missing

The return of the Champions League is almost upon us. Barça and Paris Saint-Germain will meet on Tuesday in the last 16 first leg at Camp Nou on Tuesday and blaugrana coach Ronald Koeman spoke to the media on Monday ahead of the contest. "We are very excited by this type of fixtures and it will be a very tough contest," revealed the Dutchman. More from the FC Barcelona boss below:

The team's improvement

“Barça have improved in recent months but they have a lot of quality. They will be two great games."

"I believe in my team and in my players. Our form has improved as have the results. It is an even contest and we are going into it with ambition and confidence. We are on the right path."

"There are a lot of players, for example Dembélé, who are in better shape now."

Piqué

“Gerard has been training with the group and we are confident. He has been out for a while and tomorrow [Tuesday] we will decide if he is in the squad or not. If a player is in the squad then he has a chance of playing."

Absentees

“For any team it is important to have all your players available. Di Maria and Neymar are great players but we also have people missing who we are a stronger side with. Both teams have important players missing."

Araujo

“Araujo has not trained and will not be fit for PSG. All of our defenders have played well and I have no doubt that we will defend well against PSG."

no ha entrenado y no llega para el partido contra el PSG. Cualquiera de nuestros defensas ha hecho buenos partidos y no tengo ninguna duda de que sabremos defender al PSG”.

The tie

“It is a tie over two legs and we have to score and not concede. We are a team who likes to have the all and it will be very important to keep a clean sheet."
