FC Barcelona Women 4-1 Real Madrid: The Clásico is blaugrana

Lluís Cortes' side make it 13 wins from 13 Iberdrola League games to consolidate their lead at the top of the table

The first Women's Clásico was played at Johan Cruyff Stadium, and it was Barça Women who triumphed over Real Madrid (4-1) to earn their 13th consecutive victory in the Iberdrola League.

Goals galore

Patri Guijarro had the first opportunity of the match for the hosts, but the Mallorcan midfielder's header was safely gathered by Misa. The visiting keeper could do nothing just before the quarter hour, however, as Alexia Putellas scored her 100th goal in the league with Barça. Just nine minutes later, Jennifer Hermoso added another.

Madrid had more possession but no cutting edge, so it was little surprise when Oshoala netted a third before the break, completing her double with 20 minutes left to play. The visitors' task was made much harder with the sending off of their keeper, Misa, however, they were able to grab a late consolation thanks to a dubious penalty, Olga the scorer (4-1, min 81).

100% record

A victory in the Clásico kept Barça Women unbeaten in the Iberdrola League, and their 13 victories in 13 matches (70 goals scored, 3 conceded) keeps them five points ahead of Real Madrid and Levante in the table.
