Postal votes

Members that appear on the electoral roll for the elections to the presidency of FC Barcelona on 7 March 2021 hold the right to cast their vote by post..

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Postal votes shall only be possible at post offices or postal addresses in Spain and Andorra.

  • This application for a postal vote shall be valid and effective until the end of the current election procedure, so if the election date should be postponed again, any application for a postal vote as submitted by the members at that time shall be valid and shall be maintained regardless of the date for voting in person. 

  • A confirmed application for a postal vote implies waiver of the right to vote in person at the different polling stations on March 7, or on a later date if the election is postponed again due to the pandemic.

  • Each member is responsible for safeguarding their personal data, as well as any data requested when filling out the form. Therefore once the application has been made effective and accepted, it cannot be cancelled and/or modified.

  • Likewise, each member is the holder of their own voting right, and is the sole party responsible for exercising it properly and in accordance with the law, and shall avoid and prevent any practice or action with regard their personalised ballot paper that may damage or hinder the transparency and validity of this election procedure.

APPLICATION FOR POSTAL VOTE

The application for postal vote finished the 9 February.

TYPES OF POSTAL VOTE

GENERAL

  • The member will receive the certified information from February 15 at the address stated on the postal vote application form.
  • It is very important that you have your national ID card at hand, since the post office will not be able to deliver the documentation to another person, even if they are authorised.
  • The post office will deliver the electoral documentation by hand: Some instructions, a postal voting certificate, a return envelope to process the vote at the Post Office, 4 ballot papers (one for each candidate, plus abstention) and the voting envelope. 
  • You must vote in person at a post office with the envelope for returning the documents received, containing the postal vote certificate and the voting envelope with the chosen vote option.
  • He last day for voting at a post office is 26 February 2021. Once this deadline has passed, you will lose your right to vote in this election.

After two attempts to deliver to the home, if this has not been possible, the post office will leave a physical notice. You may also receive an SMS or email, and the electoral documentation will be deposited at your local post office for 15 days so that you can go to collect it. You may also cast your vote at this time. It is important to note that the last day to vote is February 26, 2021. If you collect the documentation outside the deadline for casting a vote, the post office will still hand over the documentation but you shall no longer be able to cast any vote.

VOTE FROM HOME

The club offers members a voting service by mail from home, exclusively for members over 65 years of age and for those who meet any of the following conditions:

- Reduced mobility
- Functional diversity
- Illness

  • The member will receive the certified information from February 15 at the address stated on the postal vote application form.
  • It is very important that you have your national ID card at hand, since the post office will not be able to deliver the documentation to another person, even if they are authorised.
  • The post office will deliver the electoral documentation by hand: Some instructions, a postal voting certificate, a return envelope to process the vote at the Post Office, 4 ballot papers (one for each candidate, plus abstention) and the voting envelope.
  • At that same time, the member shall cast his/her vote with the envelope for returning the documents received, containing the postal vote certificate and the voting envelope with the chosen vote option
  • If a vote is not cast, the postal officer shall not be able to deliver the electoral documentation.

DOCUMENTATION FOR VOTING

Members will be sent the following to their homes by certified mail:

- Postal vote certificate
- Voting envelope
- Ballot papers for the 3 candidates
- Abstention ballot papers 

Members must identify themselves to the post office agent with their national ID card, both for GENERAL and HOME voting, as well as at the post office.

Please note that a confirmed application for a postal vote implies waiver of the right to vote in person.
