Statement: 41st World Congress of Supporters’ Clubs postponed

Due to the latest news of postponement of the FC Barcelona elections -formerly scheduled for the 24th  of January, the FC Barcelona Supporters’ Clubs World Confederation has decided to postpone the 41st World Congress of Supporters’ Clubs. This event was to be held on line on the 17th of January, and included an electoral debate with the candidates.

The Supporters' Club Council -the highest decision-making body between Congresses- has made this decision so as to keep the same standards that legally protected the former election call. Therefore, the electoral debate scheduled for the second half of the event is guaranteed as soon as it can take place, also understanding this exceptional situation and restrictions applied due to Covid-19 will also affect the campaign. This debate was to be held on the mark of a series of events organized by Federations and Supporters’ Clubs so all candidates could have the opportunity to reach both FC Barcelona and supporters’ clubs members.

The Supporters’ Clubs World Confederation expects to reschedule this event once the electoral process can resume with all guarantees and new election date is set.
