300 wins for Messi at Camp Nou

The Argentine has scored in a staggering 219 of those games

Lionel Messi does it again. He may not have scored against Real Sociedad, but he did get to savour his 300th victory at the Camp Nou. He’s started 269 of those games and scored in an incredible 219. Awesome beyond belief.

All eyes were on the Argentine tonight to see if he could equal Pelè as the highest ever goalscorer for a single club. That wasn’t to be, but the historic goal can’t be too far off...

Jordi Alba and Frenkie De Jong open accounts

Tonight’s goalscorers instead were Jordi Alba and Frenkie de Jong, both of whom scored their first goals of the current campaign. The Catalan defender toped a wonderful night by also supplying the assist for the Dutchman’s first half winner – originally disallowed for offside before VAR declared the goal valid.

De Jong posted as brilliant a display as he did against Levante, supporting the attack on copious occasions as he netted for the third time in a blaugrana shirt, having also scored against Valencia and Betis last term.
