U19A and U19B both in fine form

An impressive 4-3 win at Cornellà for the former, while the latter maintained their 100% record in their league

The U19A team won 4-3 at Cornellà in a cracking game on Saturday, dominating the play and despite conceding an early goal, quickly levelling from the penalty spot through Jaume Jardí and then going ahead from a Txus Alba free kick. The home side then put the team back all-square at 2-2 before the break.

Ángel Alarcón and Ilias were powering the play down the wings, and Gavi, Txus Alba and Álex Rico governed the midfield, and Barça soon went back in front when Alarcón was brought down in the area and then converted from the spot to claim his first goal of the season. An exquisite Ilias Akhomach through ball to the same player saw him bag a brace and extended the lead to two goals, and although Cornellà managed to pull one back, the three points were secure.

The win leaves the U19A team second in the league with 13 points, six adrift of leaders Espanyol, who drew with Damm this weekend. Next up is Villacarlos at the Ciutat Esportiva (Saturday 12.00pm CET, Barça TV).

Ninth debutant from the U19B team

Against Cornellà, coach Franc Artiga handed debuts to Pelayo and Jorge Alastuey, the eighth and ninth players from the U19B squad to have featured at the higher level this term. Gallego, Marc Casadó, Jorge Alastuey, Pelayo, Víctor Barberá, Jordi Coca, Gerard González, Aleix Garrido and Fabián Luzzi were the others. The game also witnessed the debut of Moussa Ndiaye, who arrived in the summer from the Aspire Academy.

U19B firing on all cylinders

The side coached by Óscar López have win six out of six in their league championship so far, their latest victims being Vilaseca a la Ciutat Esportiva. Aleix Garrido and Juanda (two each) and Jorge Alastuey and Josep Cerdà got the goals in a 6-0 win to ensure another week at the top of table, with a trip to La Floresta (Saturday, 5.00pm CET) coming up next.
