Barça 90-100 Valencia Basket: Decided in the last quarter

Barça's second consecutive defeat came on day 17 of the ACB League, Saras' team stumbling against Valencia Basket (90-100) at the Palau Blaugrana. Mirotic, with 20 points, was top scorer. Nick Calathes, was also one of the few players to produce for Jasikevicius in a first quarter that went the way of the visitors (22-32). 

Reaction

The second quarter saw Barça's reaction, and by the 12th minute of the match, there was just a point in it (33-34). The hosts then drew level with a triple (38-38 min. 14), before Mirotic's consistent scoring at the basket kept Barça in contention until the break (51-51).

Barça edged ahead for the first time in the 31st minute thanks to a basket from Orihuela, however, the intensity from the visitors never waned, and the scores were back level at 70-70 by the end of the third quarter.

Last quarter decides the winner

In the first three minutes of the final period the scales tipped Valencia's way, the visitors scoring 15 points to Barça's two. Although the hosts worked hard until the end of the match, they couldn't avoid defeat. Barça now have a record of nine wins and three defeats in the league, with their next game on Friday, December 4, at Zalgiris Kaunas (7.00pm CET).
