Dream Champions League debuts for Trincão, Pedri and Araujo

The 5-1 victory against Ferencváros saw three different players get their first experience of Europe's biggest club competition

It was a wonderful night for three Champions League debutants, Francisco Trincão, Pedri and Ronald Araujo against Ferencváros at Camp Nou.

Trincão: impressive start

Trincão was in the Barça starting XI for the first time tonight, and produced a higjly polished performance. The right winger was fantastic at finding space and might the evening hell for his marker, who will be having nightmares tonight about the dazzling Portuguese youngster.

Pedri: debut goal

Pedri came on for the last half hour as a replacement for fellow 17-year-old Ansu Fati, and also managed to get on the scoresheet against the Hungarians, set up majestically by Ousmane Dembélé. It was his first ever goal Barça, and in the Champions League of all things!

Araujo: Effective replacement

Like in Vigo, where he took the place of the red-carded Lenglet, Araujo also came on for a dismissed centre back, this time Piqué. And he performed solidly, playing so consistently that it never showed that Barça were playing with an extra man. With Piqué suspended, the Uruguayan is likely to get further UCL experience at the Juventus Stadium.
