Barça 87-60 Acunsa GBC: Back to winning ways

Victory in the Palau thanks to a great all round performance against the Basque side

Week 4 in the Endesa League brought victory in the Palau Blaugrana against Acunsa GBC, a fixture initially postponed due to several positive cases of coronavirus in the blaugrana camp. Sarunas Jasikevicius dominated from start to finish and their strength on defence, as well as their all round solidity, played a vital part in the win.

The opening exchanges saw Barça held by Acunsa GBC and after 4 minutes the scores were tied at 15-15. However, Pustovyi, Sergi Martínez and Bolmaro in particular led a charge that saw the blaugranes take a 26-15 lead. Pustovyi would end up top scorer in the game along with Davies on 15 points.

The defence was outstanding for Jasikevicius' team, forcing several turnovers and a 12 point unanswered run turned the contest definitively in Barça's direction at 60-37. The lead was maintained and even extended in the final stretch with 87-60 the final score in the Pala Blaugrana.

The win gets the blaugranes back to winning ways after the weekend's setback against Baskonia. Barça now have another two home games this week with Real Madrid the visitors in the Euroleague on Friday before welcoming MoraBanc Andorra on Sunday in the league.
