Neto: 'We are looking forward to a great start'

The Brazilian goalkeeper spoke ahead of Barça's debut in the Champions League, which will be at the Camp Nou against Ferencváros

FC Barcelona are ready for their debut in a new edition of the Champions League. The opponents for the first match of the group stage will be Hungarian side, Ferencváros, who face the blaugranes at Camp Nou (9.00pm CEST) 25 years after the last time they played a match in the European competition.

To analyse the game, both Ronald Koeman and Neto appeared at a press conference, and below are some statements from the Brazilian goalkeeper, who explained that the squad are excited and eager to play.

First match of the 2020/21 Champions League

"We are looking forward to a great start in this edition of the Champions League. We're enthusiastic and want to prove ourselves tomorrow."

"It's an important match. We need a good result because we also know the importance of winning at home. This is the Champions League and the whole team are looking forward to starting."

The opponent

“We have a lot of respect for Ferencváros. We will have to give our best because they have a great opportunity ahead and will want to take advantage of it. They've already won against some great opponents in the previous four qualifying rounds, and they will not make it easy for us. We will fight to get a good result."

"Nobody likes to lose, but we have to forget about the game against Getafe. We have to focus on tomorrow's Champions League match because football goes by very fast. The important thing is to keep working.”

Big names

"I am very happy for Coutinho, but also for me and the team. It's great to have a friend like him with me on the staff again, and he is also helping us all with his quality. He is proving his level. He has returned very motivated and very strong. He will give us a lot because we know his potential."

"Koeman's adaptation to Barça has been quick. We are all looking for results and the important thing is that each player gives everything and is committed to following his ideas."

"I see Griezmann well, as always. We know what this profession is like and sometimes things get better and sometimes worse, but I see him happy and working in training. He will surely bring us many things."
