Miranda loaned to Betis

Barça B defender to join the green-and-whites in his native Andalusia

Juan Miranda is leaving Barça B. The Andalusian defender is going on loan to Betis until 30 June 2021, and the Seville based side will take control of his licence.

19-year-old Miranda originally came to Barça in 2014 from Betis, first playing at U16 level and then U19, winning the UEFA Youth League with the latter. He became the youngest player ever to play for Spain at U16 level and was the first player born this century to appear in Division 2 B in a game away to Valladolid.

In the 2018/19 season he played 23 games for Barça B, scoring one goal, and made his senior debut on 31 October 2018 in the cup against Cultural Leonesa.

A winner of the European U17 Championship in Croatia and part of the silver medal winning Spain U 17 team at the World Cup in India, he also won gold for the U18 team at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona 2018 and gold with Spain U19 at the 2019 European Championship.

Last season he played 11 Bundesliga games while on loan to Schalke 04
