FC Barcelona partner Stanley Black & Decker recognised for its commitment to gender equality

US based company, the market leader in tools and security products, and main partner of the Barça women’s team since 2018, included by Forbes annual list among Forbes Best Employers For Women 2020

In 2018, Stanley Black & Decker and FC Barcelona reached a historic agreement whereby the American brand became the first sponsor of the Barça women’s team shirt. It is a partnership based on such shared values as effort, ambition and respect and that has brought new drive and visibility to women’s sport.

Ever since pen was put to paper, the American firm has stressed how the Barça women’s team are breaking barriers, changing perceptions and promoting diversity and respect. These are all reasons why it chose to sponsor an inspirational team with which it shares the passion to perform better and better.

And that is the spirit that has earned Stanley Black & Decker major recognition for its commitment to gender equality, by being included in the prestigious list of America’s Best Employers For Women put together by financial journal Forbes.

The ranking is based on an independent survey of more than 75,000 workers in the United States, including 45,000 women, who work for firms with at least 1,000 employees across all industrial sectors. All of the participants answered general questions about the workplace and in relation to such matters as labour, wages and diversity.

Stanley Black & Decker has taken a number of steps to advance its diversity and inclusion efforts, including supporting nine employee resource groups (including a Women's Network), joining the Paradigm for Parity Coalition to address the gender gap in corporate leadership and signing on to the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion. The company has also participated in the Business Roundtable Diversity & Inclusion Index, where the largest U.S.-based employers are committed to building a more inclusive environment. This spring, the company also supported the UN Foundation's celebration of International Women's Day with their #EqualEverywhere campaign.
