Barça opts for pink and green third kit

Limited number of units on sale from today until September 11 exclusively at Barça Stores and via the club’s online service, and thereafter from all other usual sales outlets

Dawn is breaking in Barcelona, the sun is starting to come out and the city is enshrouded in different tones: the morning pink and the green-blue of the sea create the bright, vibrant, Mediterranean landscape that was the inspiration behind the new FC Barcelona third kit for the 2020/21 season. These two colours also symbolically reflect the technology used in its manufacture to produce an extremely lightweight, elastic, and breathable fabric. The predominantly pink shirt represents the lightness of the fabric and the freedom of movement that entails, while the green trim reflects its breathability and sweat absorption, as well as the fresh sensation it produces.

The new shirt can be purchased from September 7 to 11, only from Barça Stores and online via the online shop service. From September 11, it will also be available at other regular outlets.

This is the second time in club history that a predominantly pink shirt has been worn. The only previous case was the 2017/18 third kit, but this time a green and black trim is also featuring on the sleeves and neck. The crest also appears on a green background while the sponsors’ logos (main sponsor Rakuten on the front and Beko on the sleeve of the men’s shirt, and Stanley on the front of women’s shirt) are black. Main partner Nike’s logo also appears on the front and UNICEF on the back, also in black. This is the first time that the women’s third kit has been available with the sponsor’s logo, and that is the version that will be on sale via the club’s official points of sale and channels.

Pink and green also feature in the rest of the kit. The shorts are completely green, as are the socks apart from a pink trim at the top. The Catalan flag, as with the first and second shirts, appears on the back, just below the neck.

This is the kit that the team will be wearing for away fixtures (mainly in the Champions League, but also in LaLiga and the Copa del Rey) when they have to wear a lighter shirt to avoid a colour clash, seeing as both this season’s first (blue) and second (black) strips are dark.

Less carbon footprint

100% recycled polyester, obtained from recycled plastic bottles that are melted to obtain a very fine thread, has been used to produce this season’s shirts and shorts, hence both boosting sporting performance and having less of an impact on the environment.
