Wolfsburg v FC Barcelona: It wasn't to be (1-0)

Despite controlling the game, a lack of success in front of goal meant that Lluís Cortés' side lost by the narrowest margin

Barça were in control of this semifinal for the most part, but luck deserted them in front of goal and meant that they lost by the narrowest of margins to a strong Wolfsburg side.

Barça in control

From the first whistle, Lluís Cortés' side took the game by the scruff of the neck and dominated possession at the Anoeta Stadium. Hansen and Oshoala went close on two occasions, whilst at the other end, Sandra Paños was only troubled by a long shot and a weak header.

Chances without luck

After the break, Wolfsburg laid siege to Barça's goal and on 58 minutes, Rolfö's shot found the net. It was a blow for the Catalans, but they quickly sought the equaliser. Oshoala, Mariona and Jennifer Hermoso forced Abt and her back four into some last-ditch defending, and Barça were also unlucky not to have been awarded a penalty in injury time for blatant foul.

Despite taking the game to their opponents until the very last whistle, Barça just couldn't score, meaning Wolfsburg booked their place in the final.
