6 | Matches against Napoli

Six days to go until Barça-Napoli. Six is exactly the number of games that both teams have played against each other so far

Next Saturday, Barça and Napoli will face each other at the Camp Nou in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16, looking to qualify for the quarterfinals. Only six days to go, and it's exactly six times that the two teams have met to this point: five friendlies and only one official match, the first leg in San Paolo (1-1).

Until the most recent match, both sides had only played each other in friendlies. Two came last summer, on the tour of the United States, which ended with two Barça wins: 2-1 and 0-4. If we look much further back, the first Napoli-Barça game was played in San Paolo, in May 1978 (1-1), a game in which Johan Cruyff stood out, and which oddly enough became the penultimate match for the Dutchman as a Barça player.

The other meetings all took place in the last decade: a decisive victory for Barcelona in the 2011 Gamper (5-0) and defeat in Geneva in another friendly (0-1), as well as the two aforementioned matches from last summer and the first leg of the current tie.
