Pedri: 'I am sure Barça will do well in the Champions League, they have a great team'

The man from the Canary Islands, who will be a Barça player from next season, says 'De Jong is a reference point, Iniesta as well' in a chat with the Club's official media

Pedro González 'Pedri' is a Barça fan, of that there is no doubt after his chat with the Club's official media: "Pretty much from when I was born I have been a Barça fan." The player from Las Canarias, who scored in his final appearance for Las Palmas, touches on several issues regarding his new club. Below we take a look at the highlights:

A Barça fan from a young age

"I always watch the Barça games and will continue to do so."

"At home all my family are Barça fans and my grandfather created the Tenerife-Tegueste supporters' club."

"Visiting the facilities at FC Barcelona had been a dream for me and I did it a few months and it made me really happy."

"The Camp Nou is very impressive. I always dreamt about coming out of the tunnel and I hope to do it in a Barça shirt."

Players to look up to

"I have always followed Iniesta and now Frenkie de Jong."

Summary of the season

"The U17 World Cup was great but it was bitter-sweet. With Las Palmas playing so many games in a row and without fans is difficult because we play for the fans but we adapted."

"I feel more pressure but it's good because if you relax, things don't work for you. You need to try not to avoid pressure."

The Champions League

"I am sure that Barça will do well in the Champions League despite not having won the league as they have a great team."

His future

"First off, my objective is to do the preseason and try to stay with the first team."

"I don't focus on one position only what the coach says to me."
