Rakitić: 'We have to give it everything in these two months'

The Croatian international midfielder is focusing on the resumption of the season and also looks back to the Berlin Champions League final in 2015

Ivan Rakitic is focused on the two months of competition remaining but still has time to cast his mind back to the 2015 Champions League final against Juventus in an interview with Spanish sports newspaper Marca:

Two months of competition ahead

“We have to give it everything in these two months, we have a great chance and we want to take it."

"There is a before and after to the virus lockdown, that's clear. We have had a tough time with each of us working hard at home and now games behind closed doors are coming, it will all be very different."

"We are working well and there is a fantastic atmosphere in the dressing room."

"Let's hope that we can get to the end of August and lift up two trophies. We are working with that idea in mind and I think it is possible. We want it."

Treble in first season

“That treble, a great game, a great season...it was amazing. I still remember everything today: what happened before the final, the game itself, my goal, after the game....They were unforgettable days."

Berlin, an amazing memory

“The final in Berlin will also be present in my memory and that of my family."

The 2014/15 squad

“We were strong and we got better and better. There was a feeling of being the best and of real strength that made us want to keep playing and never stop."

"The best thing was the mixture of new players with hunger and experience and class in the group. Add to that a great coach who knew all the details and know how to handle it all."

“We realised that if we did not work for each other we would not be 100% and it would be much more difficult."

Messi, Suárez and Neymar

“It was a joyous thing to see these three play and to accompany them."

"It was something to enjoy...a lot. You could see your opponents worried: they did not where to close them down, on the right, left or through the middle because we could do a lot of things."
