Barça 83-80 Bayern Munich: A vibrant comeback

The blaugranes earn a 22nd Euroleague victory after making up a 17 point deficit

The Euroleague anthem sounded again at the Palau Blaugrana, and Pesic's team had to work hard for their 22nd win in the competition. After being 17 points behind at one stage, Barça turned the match against Bayern Munich on its head, with Nikola Mirotic the best player in the game.

The match began with the Catalans and the Bavarians exchanging five straight three pointers, two of them from Mirotic (12-10, min 6). The No.33 was vital for the hosts, but despite his excellence Bayern managed to reduce Barça's lead (19-14, min 8) and closed out the first ten minutes level: 21-21.

Equality maintained

Slowly, the visitors exerted their authority, and thanks to Monroe, they led by six (30-36, min 16). However, the hosts quickly reeled them back in and went into half-time one point ahead: 42-41. The break benefited the visitors, and they flew into what appeared to be an unassailable lead (48-65, min 26).

Although the deficit was still 11 points heading into the last quarter, six three-pointers from Barça is what helped to win them the match: three from Mirotic, two from Kuric and one from Orihuela.
