It was a victory that consisted of constant struggle and perseverance to the end. Barça started off well, and their effectiveness at the basket saw them ahead 18-27 at the end of the first quarter. Berlin reacted at the start of the second period, however, and were level at 30-30 by the 14th minute. The hosts continued to grow in confidence, and were 46-38 up at half-time.
In the third period Barça had greater control of the rebound and were faster in attack, and with the help of an inspired Higgins, the visitors went back in front (55-56, min 28). It became a real see-saw battle, with regular scoring at both ends, and then Álex Abrines took control with some baskets and triples late on to help Barça to the win (80-84).
