Top of the table for El Clásico

The win against Eibar, combined with Real Madrid's defeat at Levante, means that Quique Setién's side are in first position ahead of the visit to the Santiago Bernabéu

Barça's win against Eibar (5-0) at Camp Nou and Real Madrid's 1-0 defeat at Levante has seen a change of leadership at the top of the La Liga table. Quique Setién's side will begin El Clásico next Sunday, March 1 (9.00pm CET), top of the table. The match at the Bernabéu will also be decisive in the continuing fight for top spot, and is being played just after the return of the Champions League.

The Catalans are back on top for the first time since January 26, when they lost at Mestalla against Valencia (2-0) and Madrid won at Valladolid (0-1). Since that loss, Barça have won all of their league games: 2-1 against Levante, 2-3 at Betis, 2-1 against Getafe and the win over Eibar.

The team will now turn their focus towards the Champions League Round of 16 at San Paolo against Napoli (Tuesday, 9.00pm CET).
