Atlético Levante 1-2 Barça B: Golden reaction

Barça B have bounced back from their first defeat at the Estadi Johan Cruyff last week to come from behind to collect an impressive win at the home of Atlético Levante.

The home side are in fine form and soon showed us why, playing it tight at the back but looking dangerous on the counter. The goalkeepers prevented any early scoring, but Levante eventually got off the mark through Giorgi , who pounced on a loose ball to leave Barça stopper Iñaki Peña with no chance.

But the reserves weren’t trailing for long. Alex Collado stunned everyone with a fine strike from outside the area just five minutes later. Araujo and Manaj could both have scored further goals, but in the end it was Saverio who assured a first half lead.

The second half was a slower affair with no clear dominating side. Levante pushed hard in search of a way back into the game, and. Giorgi very nearly scored his second, while Akieme had two great chances scuppered by home goalie Cárdenas. As tiredness set in, Barça B controlled things brilliantly and hung for an important three points to stay in the playoff zone.

Next week Alicante-based Hercules will be the visitors to Barcelona.
