Neither team came close to scoring in the first twenty minutes of an exciting game, the match goalless at half-time. A lack of goals was as much down to Barça's Juanjo as anything else, the keeper a hero on the Son Moix court, stopping a dozen shots from all angles in a brilliant performance. Barça, despite having the majority of the ball, had more difficulty creating chances.
The hosts began the second half with the same intensity that they had ended the first. Lolo quickly gave them the lead, with Juanjo continuing his one-man defensive job by keeping out shots from Tomaz and Eloy Rojas. In the final stretch of the game, Andreu Plaza switched to five in attack, and it proved decisive. With time running out, Lozano tried a shot from distance, and Barrón was unable to stop him scoring his 14th goal in the league.
