Barça B 2-0 Ejea: Hard work gets its reward

Garcia Pimienta's team fully deserved the three points in a hard-fought victory over a tough opponent

It certainly wasn't easy, but Barça B emerged victorious against Ejea after a hard-fought 90 minutes. Without Araujo, Riqui Puig and Collado, the hosts, nevertheless, gave everything, and were rewarded with the three points.

Barça B controlled the ball for long periods in the opening stages, but the Ejea defence were solid and so Garcia Pimienta's team had difficulty finding space to manufacture chances. Saverio and Monchu came closest for the Blaugranes, however, it was Ejea's Ramón López who almost opened the scoring, his shot from inside the six-yard box deflected away from danger.

In the 35th minute, visiting goalkeeper, Joan Ander Felipe, gave away a penalty after a foul on Reis, and Monchu made no mistake. It was the Barça captain's seventh goal this season.

Saverio seals it

In the second half, Ejea pushed hard without really troubling the hosts. The visitors had more of the ball leaving Barça B to counterattack at pace. Just when an equaliser seemed likely, Kike Saverio scored a great goal from outside the area. With 20 minutes still to play, the hosts still had to work for the win, but they were able to see the game out thanks to a spectacular stop from Carevic.

The next opponents are El Prat, in a game where Garcia Pimienta will not be able to count on Monchu, who was given his tenth yellow card of the season against Ejea.
