Barça arrive in Saudi Arabia

Team flies to Jeddah, venue of the Spanish Super Cup being played from January 8 to 12

FC Barcelona are in Saudi Arabia, venue for the new-look Spanish Super Cup from January 8 to 12. Barça face Atlético Madrid in the second semi-final on Thursday, and should they win, will meet Real Madrid or Valencia in Sunday’s final.

After a morning training session at the Ciutat Esportiva, the squad of 24 named by Ernesto Valverde left Barcelona at 1.00pm CET, joined on the flight by club president Josep Maria Bartomeu, as well as several other board members and CEO Òscar Grau.

It’s the first time FC Barcelona have ever visited Saudi Arabia.

On arrival, the team was transferred directly to their hotel to get some rest, and will train for the first time on Saudi soil at 6.30pm local time (4.30pm CET). Prior to the workout, the manager will be giving an official press conference together with Sergio Busquets.
