Ana Crnogorcevic is coming to strengthen the Barça women’s team until the end of the season, with the option to stay for one more. Born in Switzerland but of Croatian descent, the 29-year-old is a versatile international who is arriving from the Portland Thorns in the NWSL. She can play at right back or anywhere in the attack, and is not only skilled with her feet but also has great physique and is strong in the air (1.75 m).

She is the all-time top goalscorer for Switzerland, and before going to the United States, she spent eight years at FFC Frankfurt, where she was a European champion (2015).

She took her medical and fitness tests on Wednesday at Hospital de Barcelona and the Medical Services at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, the final step before signing her contract. Crnogorcevic then made her way to the Estadi Johan Cruyff to put pen to paper, where she was joined by the director responsible for the section, Maria Teixidor, and sports manager, Markel Zubizarreta, before donning the blaugrana colours for the first time.

She will be wearing the number 18 shirt and will have her first training session under Lluís Cortés on Tuesday 10 December.
