Olimpia Milano 83-70 Barça: First defeat in Europe

Svetislav Pesic's team lose in Italy to a Milan side who come good towards the end

The run is over and Barça have suffered their first defeat in the Euroleague this season going down 83-70 to Olimpia Milano in Italy. The blaugranes dominated the early stages but the Italians came in the latter stages of the game to take victory. Brandon Davies top scored for the blaugranes with 15 points before limping off with an injury just minutes before the end.

A Davies inspired Barça had the better of the early exchanges with the American scoring 11 points in the first quarter. The Italians came back to level things up at 28-28 but Pesic's side turned the screw and at half time the blaugranes were 37-30 ahead.

In the second half the Milan side came back at Barça to take the lead 46-44 but the visitors were not put off and at the end of the third period they still led by 58-52.

In the final quarter the Italians made it difficult for the Barça offense to score and Milan took control of the game. The home side got their noses in front and in an excellent final few minutes put the game beyond the blaugranes to win 83-70 and inflict on Barça their first defeat of the Euroleague.
