Fortress Camp Nou: A decade of impregnability

Since the 2009/10 season, Barça have won a total of 252 out of 298 matches in the stadium and scored 945 goals, more than any other major European league team

Throughout history, the Camp Nou has always been a fortress where opposition teams have been concerned, but in recent years, that impregnability has increased. In the last decade, Barça have played a total of 298 games at home in official competition, of which 252 have been won. In addition, 32 matches have been drawn and only 14 have been lost. Absolutely spectacular figures.

Across these 298 games, Barça have scored a total of 945 goals, an average of more than three per game, and have conceded 206. Of the goals scored, 618 were in the league, 163 in the Champions League, 146 in the Copa del Rey and 18 in the Spanish Super Cup. As for the 252 wins, 168 came in the league, 47 in the Champions League, 32 in the Copa del Rey and 5 in the Super Cup.

More than anyone in Europe

The figures are incredible, but if we compare them with the other teams in the main European Leagues, they are even better. No team has played more games at home than Barça in the last decade (298), no team has won more games (252), no team scored more goals (945) and no team lost fewer games (14). Real Madrid are the nearest side to Barça in terms of wins, with 222 at the Santiago Bernabéu.

If we focus on goals, no other team approaches the 945 goals that Barça have scored at home. The next highest scoring team at home over the last decade is also Real Madrid, with 841, more than 100 less than the Catalans.. They are followed by Bayern Munich (726 goals) and Manchester City (710).

Almost 23% of the goals in Camp Nou history

In its 62 years of history, the Camp Nou has seen a total of 4,133 goals for FC Barcelona. But, in just 10 years, Barça have managed to score 945 goals, that is: 22.86% of the total goals scored in the history of the Camp Nou. Before this golden decade, the average number of goals per season at the Camp Nou was 61.3. In this decade it has been 94.5 goals. Just spectacular.
